ok. i realise that this is a touchy subject in England at the moment after the events of Reading festival, but i would just like to say that i love the rasmus (especially lauri ylonen). i have all their music and i love all of it.
the music and how they dress acording to andy. but their not as good. i might give my rasmus albums away coz i haven't listened to them since i bought them.
ok. i love HIM and the rasmus, but i cant find any likenesses apart from the nationalities. him are love metallers. they do love songs they use keyboards and use synthesisers and are wellknown for cover versions - 'solitary man' and 'wicked game'. the rasmus on the other hand are harder to classify. they have been more obviously getting in with the rock music recently, with a bit of an 80s revival going on - been compared by kerrang! to bon jovi - but the earlier stuff was more diverse from pop to strange rapping (see Playboys - the second album). they are really just trying their hands at everything but making it their own.
i really dont know why these comparatives have been made as, to me, they make no sense.
ah well... i love the rasmus still - im GUILTY of that!
to me, they remind me of the red hot chilli peppers. on peep, didn't like it much coz i'm not into rap, for some reason, i thought they were from belgum or poland. not finland, but kne HIM where, you can tell. but their not as good as i thought they were, i'll have to listen to dead letters again. but it was to pop, they were better at rap. but nothing can beat placebo, maybe HIM, but their both brillient. wot was their album before dead letters.
they've been around as long as placebo, it was on peep. i think on one of their songs. 1996

I go on the Beastie Boys message board, that has thousands.
If you stick around you'll get to know some of them
woohoo! rasmus have a dvd coming out, with a live show n 7 of the dead letters music vids on and also interviews and stuff. im so buying it. supposed to be out by the end of november! yay!
omg, just got back from seeing the rasmus. ok, i love placebo and brixton was great .... but... THAT WAS THE BEST CONCERT... EVER!!!!!
i was directly in the centre in the second row. i took a whole film of close ups of the band! they played all of the best songs. ok, yeah the performance was amazing but, and franz will beck me up here, afterwards was better.
we went to the back stage door and were stood there for about 15 minutes. then i heard a click and it opened. Eero - the gorgeous bass player, walks out casually. comes up the steps. we say hi, he says hi. he pulls his hood over his head and stands outside the venue. thousands, literally, of people walk past and dont notice. we go up to eero and shake hands with him and tell him the concert was amazing. we shake hands again. he goes inside. then about 10 minutes later he comes out again, we wrote all (4) of our phone numbers on a sheet of paper and franz gives it to him as he walks towards the tour bus. he leaves. HOW BLOODY COOL IS THAT. all those screaming fans, and none of them recognised him!!!
we then go for a drink of water and when we come back the coach door has just shut and the coach is driving away - that was a bummer, no meeting lauri. so we hang around and are just walking up the road and the bus, which has just turned around, come back down the road. at this point we are in the middle of the road. in the front of the coach, who should we see??? lauri. and he is filming with a camcorder! so there! we are on lauris camcorder! hehe!
and to seal the evening perfectly, or maybe frustratedly, while franz and i are taking a bus to the station, the tour bus drives past on the other side of the road!!! they have obviously got lost.... dumbasses!! hehe!lol!
... and that my friends was mine and franz's rasmus adventure!!!
again, when i get a scanner all of my photos will be posted. i have a full film of the rasmus from the comfort of the front row of the bristol carling academy!!!!

Well, actually for the first bit I was in the middle and she was off-centre. But yeah, when the Rasmus came on we were somewhat compelled by the crowd to occupy pretty-much the exact same bit of floor.
Absolutely great though!
..met some cool Canadian girls too which was really cool, great people!
..oh yeah, I think I met the bass guitarist somewhere along the way too..
..yup, pretty sure I did.
