I adore The Pumpkins. I have Adore and Machina and I am working my way back through the catalogue. I discovered them after they split and I couldn't believe that I had missed them before. I love nearly every track on Adore, from beginning to end but especially like Perfect and Ave Adore.

I was introduced to them through Adore and it was the most fitting introduction. I think you will find their earlier work to be a bit rawer but equally as good yet I find this album quite mellow but probably quite representative of their sound, melody, lyrics, mood etc....I can either send you a copy of it or what I do, which you could do, is borrow CDs from the library. I do it all the time. An album is under £2 for 3 weeks and libraries are very good at having what is really hot in the music press. Hell, my library has all the Placebo albums! I have been introduced to so many great bands this way and have managed to go through entire back catalogues of PJ Harvey, Nick Cave, Radiohead etc...It helps me decide who I will go out and buy and who I won't. It is a really good way to find out if you like someone's music without forking out a load of cash. I am currently listening to all the singles from Depeche Mode from the library. They should have some Pumpkins at yours too.

Sometimes though, it is better to listen to an entire album in its correct order. An issolated single doesn't always capture everything, but if you can DL whole albums (I am clueless about DL) than that is great too!
