well, as you might know, i'm a fan, i think they are very good, i became 'obsessed' (nothing can replace my Placebo obsession ) with them since i bought their new album, Antics, it's great, i love that album, i think it's one of the best things i've heard since....i don't know, maybe a year or so, i started likeing them when i heard "Obstacle 1" and "PDA". So, what do you think about them?

this is a video i found made by an Interpol fan, i really like it, she scored it with Interpol's Leif Erikson, and i think it suits the video very well...
...this is quite a long post, it's what i just e-mailed my friend Marisol (i'm tranlsating it now, so...sorry about any errors and about the length of this...):
well, on Saturday, NPR.org streamed a live concert from DC's 9:30 club and on its webpage it said that the times aprox. were these:
7:30 Introduction 7:45 Blonde Redhead went on stage 8:30 Interview with Interpol 9:00 Interpol went on stage
...so, i turned on my PC at 6:30 and began listening to the transmision...and before 7:00 Blonde Redhead started playing, which, i must say, is a great band, i liked them a lot, i need to look more stuff from them..they're really good... well, after that, i lost the notion of time, so i can't really tell what happened at which hour, but, after Blonde Redhead finished, the guy hosting the transmission went to talk to Interpol for the interview...it was only with Daniel and Sam (..sniff..no Carlos or Paul...but well) and they answered Jolene's question (a member of the 'pol forum)...and well, in that moment i entered the Interpol chat room....and it was a party over there, everybody was going nuts, we (yup, me too..) were shouting, singing, typing (sp) whatever came to our minds, i was there when the concert began (with Next Exit) and i left before the second song (Slow Hands) finished...it was just to much for me...cause we were typing the parts Paul was singing, and even the guitar parts (ex. doo..dee..doo lol, i know, that was hilarious) so, after that, i went to their forum and began to post on a thread that was about that concert (i wrote about 25 posts...) we were just writing stuff like 'oh i love that song' or 'did you heard how great Paul sounded when he said the first Rosemary?', oh, btw, at the end of Take You On A Cruise, Sam made a solo that ended on the beginning of PDA, and that was the coolest transition i've heard, linking TYOAC with PDA!!!!...and well, i knew i was gonna die if they played TYOAC, Leif Erikson, Angels, Roland and/or NYC (..ok, they didn't play NYC, but they did the rest) and a lot of times..or well, most of the time i could even imagine them playing...Paul playing in front of the mic....holding it with his hands and closing his eyes....and Carlos playing at less than 2 inches from the ground like he always does...
ok, here's the setlist:
Next Exit Slow Hands Length of Love Say hello to the angels NARC Public Pervert Not Even Jail Leif Erikson Evil TYOAC PDA
-----
Specialist Obstacle 1 Roland
ah, what a great show, really, and everybody at the forum were crying, screaming, shouting, it was crazy...i loved it, and after that, all i have to say is: COME TO MEXICO!!!
well, after writing that, (and now that the efect of being a big fan has come down..) here comes my review a bit more critical of the concert....well, yeah, the concert was very good, but of course, it wasn't their best..it had it's mistakes, Sam was excelent, very good on all the songs, not one mistake. Carlos was excellent too, his bass lines edgy and deep, perfect as always, so there we have a very good rythmic part. Blasco (the guy that helps them on tour on the keyboards) was also very good, very few mistakes, or should i say, no mistakes, and his voice sounded very good...but now, it's time for Daniel...Daniel had several mistakes during the concert, he was off key a lot of times, and his voice....i don't know what the hell happened to his voice, and Paul, he had few mistakes with his guitar, but his voice was a bit shaky, tho there were a lot of times where his voice sounded really good, like in the beggining of Evil, on the first 'Rosemary'...anyway, the crowd was very good, both (the crowd and the band) had a lot of energy, which makes all the mistakes i noted before, to be erased
long story short, i enjoyed it a lot, i loved it, even now i remember every moment, they should stream more concerts like this one

ok....Paul's hair is more subtle now....but...he has a new thing going on...
<- he's got a tattoo!!!
when did he get it? what the hell is it? I have no idea...but those are recent pics (from May 14) so now we all have to wait until their next performance to see if it's real or if it's just a henna tattoo...and to figure out what it is..

well, yesterday was Interpol's appearance on Jay Leno (thanks so much to wickedcherub for the video! ) <- yeah, not even a day has passed and I already have the recording of it
anyway, it seems that Paul's tattoo was a fake one..
^ too bad he had his hair all over his face...I couldn't see those beautiful eyes..oh, Daniel was wearing a white tie! I don't think I've seen him wearing white ties so much...Sam looked great, but he was wearing shades...and Carlos, he wore a red shirt, and black tie...and...of course, his holsters!! I love so much the way he looks with his holster

so, today was KROQ's Weenie Roast festival, and as you might now (I really hope you knew) Interpol was gonna play
well, I got online at 1:00 pm, even though the festival started at 3:00 (it started at 1:00 but, here I have a different hour), but I wanted to make sure I everything was ok with my PC and I was gonna be able to watch it. At first, I experienced some problems, my Windows Media didn't wanted to play it, but I managed to arrange that. So, long story short, Jimmy Eat World played (they went before Interpol) and my excitement grew every second. I got really happy when they played The Middle, cause it's a song I like, and it felt great while waiting for Interpol. Finally, Jimmy Kimmel introduced them, and Interpol took the stage. Paul, wearing a baby pink shirt with thin black stripes and a white tie, Daniel with black suit and white tie (again), Sam wearing a blue shirt (he was also wearing a tie, but just after Next Exit ended, he took it off), and shades, Carlos, wore a black shirt, red tie, and his holster, and Blasco wore a black suit (including the jacket) and a tie (I don't remember very well what color it was). I didn't saw a sign of Paul's said tattoo...but some say there was a shot where it still looked as if he had some dirt on his neck..but well, anyway, it all came out pretty good, but I have to complain about some stuff. During their performance, there were bits where you could listen to other drums that weren't Sam's, it was from the soundcheck that was going on on the back, the camera guys were so unskilled that they figured out how to do shots from different angles very late (I think it was a little before Evil or so), so what was able to watch was mainly Paul and Sam (and we only saw Sam because he was behind Paul, if not, we would have barely seen him, just as Dan and Carlos). There were very few shots from Dan, and they only shot Carlos for about 3 seconds, that pissed me off. They didn't even shot him at the beginning of Evil, I mean, c'mon, he's the one that opens Evil!! ah, well....then, PDA..everything seemed ok, UNTIL it was time for Dan to do the 'simpleton, you're a simpleton.....' part, and....the ****in mic didn't worked!! I nearly cried when I was bearly able to listen to his voice..well, but apart from all that, it was pretty good, I liked it , and I've already lots of pics and some videos from it...yeah, 'Pol fans are awesome..about 10 min. after it had ended, I already had the said pics and videos...(thanks to all of them )
Setlist:
Next Exit Slow Hands Say Hello to the Angels NARC Leif Erikson C'mere Obstacle 1 Evil PDA
I'll be back with some pics..

umm...well, I'm kinda worried about Carlos....I mean..yesterday he was spinning in NY, and his set should have ended at about 6 am...tomorrow he'll be djing in our beloved country, and the next day he'll be back to spin in NY! I want him to take a break, so he can rest some time...maybe he does it for fun, but he's been really busy and I don't want anything bad happen to him..
...after all that, Interpol is scheduled to perform in June, then on July both (Interpol and Carlos as DJ) already have dates for performances (in various places, and Carlos will be on Australia spinning) then on August, they have dates aswell, (Carlos will be spinning in Hawaii) <- yeah, as strange as it sounds, the party will be over there
but...well, even he once said: "sleeping is for the weak" he needs to rest a bit...(this post is starting to remind me of cmerepaul's website's poll, in which you could make a plea to Interpol..and the highest answer was for them to take a break, so we could stop worring about them )

Interpol Too Weary To Make Video For 'Narc' 06.01.2005 8:43 PM EDT
Bassist Carlos D. threatens to remove sunglasses, reveal bags under eyes. Interpol's Daniel Kessler and Carlos D. at the 2005 KROQ Weenie Roast Photo: MTV News
IRVINE, California — After not appearing in their last video, Interpol are going a step further for the follow-up to "Evil." They're not making one.
"We've made some videos that we all stand by, and they are good videos, but it takes a lot out of you," guitarist Daniel Kessler said backstage at the recent KROQ Weenie Roast. "It's a lot of repetitive things, doing it over and over and over again. [With 'Evil'] we enjoyed basically being in Europe while getting copies of the video and being like, 'No, yes, no,' without really being involved."
Although Interpol are neglecting to make a video, the New York rockers are in fact enthused about releasing "Narc" as the third single from Antics (see "Interpol's Fans Are About To Get 'Evil' ").
"It's probably one of the more collaborative tracks we've ever done," Kessler said. "I had the main riff, and everyone started adding on their little piece that [made] the song really develop and become its own entity. And then when we went to the chorus, [singer] Paul [Banks] and I spontaneously went to the same chords. It's one of those songs that's really different stylistically from the album, but everything that happened happened without [discussion]. It was all on instinct."
Without a video getting in the way, Interpol will spend their summer focused on touring. Along with some more U.S. radio-station festivals and the European festival circuit, the band is hitting Australia, New Zealand and Japan, and plans are in the works for Mexico.
Along the way, Interpol will share the stage with some of their favorite classic bands, namely the Pixies and U2, as well as Queens of the Stone Age and Hot Hot Heat (in Chicago at Q101's Block Party on Friday).
"A lot of bands have broken through to commercial radio that normally would not have been getting played a few years ago, so the climate's changed a little bit," Kessler noted. "There's actually more interesting things still in the underground, though. When things like that happen, the underground actually gets more interesting and there's a lot of really great stuff that I'm discovering. New genres, even."
Perhaps some of that will influence the next Interpol album?
"Do I need to take off my sunglasses and show you the bags under my eyes?" bassist Carlos D. countered. "No, we're gonna take some time off."
