Though the world seems an unfriendly sinister place It gives us courage and guidance through life Through times of despair and angst Through times of blood and depression
We hang on to the mud and oil The flowers grass and weeds So we can live in this world That some of us want to leave
And it carries us onwards to a newer life Somewhere beyond the clouds Were either fire burns or angels fly We need to find out that place
And life is short it will fly by quick It scares me half to death To know my life will fall apart After a blink of an eye
No longer seeing those flowers The mud and oil will disappear And only to find a fire or angels Leave my friends and family
I don’t want to die I know we must But I don’t understand why Why do we leave a life we tried to build? Just to let it go
There’s nothing to hold on to in the world beyond But I don’t want to let my fears rule my life I don’t need to live in despair I don’t need shadows to fill gaps either
But my muddled mind keeps toying with me Making me feel so low Just because our life goes quick I guess I haven’t wasted it at all
