I was compelled to do Psychology by virtue of a "U" in Politics. (Long story..)
I cannot stand it, I see no relevance. I suspect this post may be a frustrated rant, apologies in advance.
It is just that so much of the subjet is so mind-numbingly obvious. "Oh, so this research tells us that if a child is abused they develop poorly", well no sh*t? What then of the studies into how stress affects people..
..whereby they a) Injected rats with cancer, put some on turntables and timed how long they took to die. and b) Electrocuted monkeys in various different ways, also seeing how long they took to die. Ludicrous.
Or Freud, everything is about sex. Really, I'm eating a friend egg for breakfast, how does this display my "deep inner feelings of sexual inadequacy".
Psh, it is either common sense or poppycock. Damn to the lot of it.
*breathes*
So, yeah, it's not so bad really..
Au revoir mes amis,
Monsieur Franz

E sounds sooo much worse than D!
It isn't all about pointing out the obvious things, it's usually about what makes us the way we are, and the possibilities of what lies in the subconcious.
Yes, Freud was one hell of a sick dude with his ideas (oh for those who have never heard of him, he had a theory that all boys have sexual desires towards their mother hence the desire to kill their father) but also some theories actually make sense.
It's important for me to study psychology, to make my mind flexible to reach the individual's level if I'm going to be a nurse. Should help me deal with behaviour certain ways and it looks good too on the CV, studying that
get payed to sit infront of a computer. i do it for free now, or give cheek to the goverment and be a rule breaker. that sounds like me. not being quite
about the journalism/law thingy: when you study to be a reporter/journalist your course does deal, briefly, with the law. you need to know what you can and cannot write. for example; if you are writing a report on a court case 1 you cannot use the names of anyone under 16?/18? 2 you must read all other journalist reports if you are dealing with witnesses especially. this is because what you say may be a different piece of info than to another reporter. someone may, therefore, beable to idntify someone by piecing different reports together. this is called jigsaw identification. if people are able to do this then you are liable to be sued! 3 you have to draw the lines between stating the fact - and saying that something is factual - and stating our opinion, or fair comment. its all very dull, so i think i will stop there! lol!
what exactly are you trying to say franz? honestly... to think you would think i have any alternative motives for my career, other than to do something i enjoy!
... no im not planning to take up camping in brians backyard and saying its part of the job.... *coughs and shuffles away, ashamed*
