I've got family that actually live in Thailand, the capital of Bangkok, they holiday in Pukhet where it got hit badly.
For three days we hadn't heard form them, no one could get hold of them either, it was plain awful. They're fine though. It's damn fustrating though not being able to reach them though.
Don't think so, she probably has the contact option there if you want to comment on her work and she probably only answers if you want her to do some work.
i can't belive how many have died... its just surreal, that a wave could do that - kill thousands of people. it's so... it's undescribable. i sat there for about 2 hours the other night. and i just felt like crying, you know?- have you guys ever got that. you know no one that has died but you still feel so awful as if you knew them all. i just feel so sorry for the familys

Ok, maybe I'm a heartless git. Indeed, I probably am.
...but i'm bored of the damn tsunami. They have more than enough money so why on earth people don't pay attention to the more pressing problems I do not know. Argh, so frustrating.

I understand where Franz is coming from. Yes, the tsunami has affected alot of people but theres something bugging me! There are thousands of homeless people on our streets and apparently we have NO money to build them houses and give them aid and shelter, yet, we are able to donate £200,000,000 to the tsunami! it doesnt add up.
Yeah i know what you mean, it's a wierd situation, yeah you know these people need all the help and money they can get and when you stop and think about it, our government does very little to help homeless people here.
I will continue to donate money, but i will make sure to put some money into our own charities.
I think it was about a week after the wave hit that i saw on the news how the people of India refused help and had already got there power working again and started to rebuild their houses, i thought this was amazing.
But yeah we do need to look after our own too, half of Britain was under water this week, i know it's not nearly on the same scale but devastating for the people involved all the same
And to be honest i think the world is just a bit of a **** up at the moment

That's just it, some countries are politely refusing adi because they are actually industrialised and advanced nations now. Indonesia is diplomatically quite annoyed that the USA dropped troops and aid on their country without asking permission, and I know what they mean. If your country has over the last few years become regionally powerful, technologically advanced and perfectly able to cope with a disaster. Then I suppose they could easily see it as a bit patronising to be treated like a third-world country.
It's good going that they did so well so fast. India is quite rich and has lost and lots of workmen to help but it is also very large, they did well to tend to the whole coastline as fast as they did.
Yes, it always has been and, I would bet, always will be.
