Thats my reason. I feel better for it, my love for them (Placebo) and Brian occupies me and takes away the fear, sadness, lonliness and other depressive feelings.
"All alone in space and time, theres nothing here but what here's mine. Something borrowed, something blue, every me and every you"
I get an overiding feeling of passion, like a flame, lighting up inside me. It makes me feel more complete, less empty and weak. I think the song 'Every me and Every you" has particular meaning for me...
In less that philosophic terms, it is a drug. The oldest that we know, other than love. Music is more easily classified as such though, people like it for the same reasons as they turn to drugs. Escapism.
Personally, I'm not sure I could live without the effect of music. Indeed were there no music I would probably have turned to drugs when I was very young indeed. Life, in general, gets very difficult to cope with if you are constantly faced with the realities. The suffering, the unanswered questions, the unanaswerable questions. If I'm honest, I'm just a bit crap at the whole existential realness thing.
Music gets you out of it. It can provide the sort of emotion that buoys you up and carries you over your problems but also the sort of beautiful melancholy that leads you to edges and new perspectives. All false, but if they effect you then they hold reality in that effect.
Illusions really, but illusions that can help or crush you. Illusions that can keep you from the grimness or monotony of reality. Much like drugs.
*sigh*
I need a bloody diary. I'll probably delete this later anyway.

why? I like people going into depth. Forums are for people to talk and to express their thoughts and opinions. You are doing exactly what you ought to be doing!
...very well said by the way. Although, strangely, with Placebo I find that I make a connection with the music. They take away the loneliness as they describe the reasons why we so wish to escape. They share our experiences and we relate to them. This makes me feel better, it says "You are not alone".
Hey Franz! I saw a trailer on the net today, that was playing while Mr Powell was teaching (he left it on by accident and it played random stuff off some movie site), and it mentioned something about Absinthe and I thought of you, lol!
I'm getting quite good at this Absinthe lark. I'm plnning on investing in a Segarra 45, it's less expensive but of a higher quality that the Segarra 68. Good stuff really!
*sigh*
I know too much about drinks..
*slightly unnerved*
Ah well, it's good to see that you'll never be able to smell Brandy or see Absinthe ever again without being reminded faintly of me.
Well, I think it's good..

Ha-hey everyone! Today Jenna entertained me in one of the music rooms. I must say, in all honesty, I've never seen her fingers do such things as that before.

Heavy metal! You rock! It's mostly about the music instead of lyrics for you...but you channel most of the emotion through the lyrics! Mosh pit for you! Just be careful you don't give yourself a concussion with so much headbanging...
Holy cow, I just did a quiz from Hannah's profile. Mosh pit, pour moi?
Yes, ok. I suppose it's true.
Though, headbanging?
Not quite..
