Illyrianth: I have been known to have black hair a la Robert Smith.
It WAS an accident, completely explained by the vodka jelly and Charlotte's desire to try out a new hair dye range. On me. And no hair brush for a thirty mile radius.
Still like "Friday I'm in Love" though.
Never used go shopping in Exeter without bumping into Mr Smith at some point actually. Strange man, used to sit in trees and dribble on people.
Cool!

27/5/5> As of Tuesday this week I am no longer a member of The Cure I have prepared an official statement which will be released when timely. It was sad to find out after nearly 20 years the way I did but then I should have expected no less or more. I will try and reply to every email of support I receive but if I don't get to yours, THANK YOU. The fans have always been very important to me and will remain so. I look forward to seeing as many of you as I can when I tour my album later this year, hopefully in a more relaxed and happy atmosphere than has surrounded The Cure these last couple of years.
Edited By Jonathan Cohen. May 27, 2005, 3:20 PM ET Two Members Exit The Cure By Jason MacNeil, Toronto
Two members of the Cure have exited the veteran U.K. rock act, which has long featured a revolving door of musicians backing up leader Robert Smith. Keyboardist Roger O'Donnell announced his departure today (May 27) on his official Web site, while a fan site dedicated to guitarist Perry Bamonte conveyed the same news about his fate.
"As of Tuesday this week I am no longer a member of the Cure," O'Donnell wrote. "It was sad to find out after nearly 20 years the way I did but then I should have expected no less or more." He added that he was looking forward to touring in support of an upcoming solo album "in a more relaxed and happy atmosphere than has surrounded the Cure these last couple of years."
It is unclear how these moves will affect the band's recently confirmed first shows of 2005, including stops Aug. 5 at Spain's Benicassim Festival and Sept. 3 at the Rock N' Coke Festival in Istanbul.
Rumors have circulated that Siouxie and the Banshees principal Steve Severin will fill in at these shows in some capacity. Severin and Smith are longtime friends who recorded a 1983 side-project album, "Blue Sunshine," under the moniker the Glove.
"It is true that we are talking again, but I haven't spoken to Robert since this story broke," Severin reveals to Billboard.com. "All I know is that we are working together on making the most exciting remaster of 'Blue Sunshine' possible."
27/5/5> What is done is done however it happened. I was in a group and now I'm not .....Thanks to everyone who has emailed me, I will reply to you all and I wish The Cure all the success they deserve.
..and Billboard edited their article just to include this:
Elaborating to Billboard.com today, O'Donnell reveals that he was informed by Smith that he is transforming the Cure into a three-piece, backed only by bassist Simon Gallup and drummer Jason Cooper. "There's not really much you can say when you are the fifth member," he says, adding that he found out about the Cure's upcoming live dates via a fan Web site.

Oh for f*cks sake! What is Smith playing at? I love the guy but why did he boot em out. I know he IS The Cure really but it was a bit tight! I hope that doesn't f*ck things up for the sound of the music. Well I will always love the cure but Im in shock right now. It seems a strange thing to happen and be done.
I know, I was also in shock when I was reading it...it's very sad..I loved Perry, well, also Roger, but to know that Perry was no longer in The Cure just broke my heart...and it was kinda hard for me to listen to them again...and watch bits of the Trilogy DVD...aww..
btw..Robert posted this in the comments section of official site:
CHANGE 5/29/2005 10:07:24 AM - by CURE:ROBERT
Change alone is eternal, perpetual, immortal. - Arthur Schopenhauer
THERE ARE NOW THREE PEOPLE IN THE BAND: ME, SIMON AND JASON - AND THERE ARE VERY GOOD REASONS FOR THIS CHANGE... REASONS WE ALL KNOW, UNDERSTAND AND ACCEPT
THE RS/SG/JC/PB/RO'D CURE LINE-UP WAS TOGETHER FOR TEN GORGEOUS YEARS - WILD MOOD SWINGS, FIVE SWING LIVE, (GALORE), BLOODFLOWERS, (GREATEST HITS), TRILOGY, THE CURE - A SHARED LEGACY TO BE VERY PROUD OF INDEED
BUT NONE OF US CAN BELIEVE IT IS BETTER TO TREAD WATER MARK TIME BITE LIP RATHER THAN EMBRACE CHANGE WHEN CHANGE ARRIVES
^ I know...that's why I also found it hard to swallow those news...I mean..it was Perry Bamonte!! *sniff* but...I also love Robert..I just hope those line-up changes don't affect on their music..
btw..there have been rumors that the line-up was changed because of the return of Porl...but who nows...
